She has spent the last 30 years as a coach for Spirit Baton and an NBTA Judge, as well as a contest director and board of directors member for Twirling Unlimited.

Visiting us from West Virginia is Barbara Neely! A former feature twirler at West Virginia University, Barbara has held titles from Miss Majorette of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania State, and was even top 5 in Miss Majorette of America! Barbara has been coaching baton for 50 years and has been judging for NBTA for 44 years, in addition to being involved with Twirling Unlimited.

Joining us from Wisconsin is Dawn Haverfield-Smith! A former twirler at Carroll College, Dawn has held titles such as Miss Majorette of Wisconsin. She has been judging for over 35 years with both NBTA and TU, as well as coaching private lesson students.

Visiting from Kansas is Diana McClain! Diana is a former Baker University twirler that held titles such as Miss Majorette of Kansas. She has been judging for more than 40 years with NBTA, TU, and AAU. She also coached twirling for most of those years, though she is now only doing spot lessons here and there.

She started twirling at age 4 in New Jersey and later became the Feature Twirler for Northwestern University. Visiting us from Illinois is our Head Judge, Jo Ann Britton! Jo Ann Britton is an NBTA Hall of Fame Inductee. She started twirling at age 4 in New Jersey and later became the Feature Twirler for Northwestern University. Living in the Chicago area since college graduation she spent 5 years teaching high school in Zion, Illinois, before moving to Naperville, Illinois, where she worked as a School Enrichment Coordinator for the University of Illinois. In 1989, Major Joanne Schleuter chose her to become Director of the Silver Knights Baton Corps, and she has run the corps for 37 years. Her daughter, Meganne, and many other students earned National titles. Meganne was a two-time Grand National Champion, three-time Miss Majorette of America and two-time silver and bronze medalist at the WNBTA World Championships. Jo Ann has judged the WNBTA World Championships in Italy and Norway.
Jo Ann credits her success as a coach and judge to her mentors Major Bonnie Baxter and Brooks Going. She also says she owes a debt of gratitude to Don Sartell the founder of NBTA. For her entire twirling career she has been a member of NBTA. Her experiences as a twirler, coach and judge have impressed upon her the importance of the "spirit of friendly competition" where twirlers of all ages and abilities can strive for their personal best and build life-long relationships.

Visiting us from Florida is Lynette Starkey! A former Florida State Twirling & Two Baton Champion, Lynette is the Director of the IBTF Silver Medalists Sundancers! Visiting us from Florida is Lynette Starkey! A former Florida State Twirling & Two Baton Champion, Lynette is the Director of the IBTF Silver Medalists Sundancers! Under her direction, the Sundancers have also won three little brown jugs from AYOP! Lynette has coached several College feature twirlers including a Purdue GG, Ole Miss Feature, Mizzou Feature, FSU Feature, and USF feature. In addition to being an NBTA judge for 38 years, Lynette is also a Level 1 USTA Judge.

Visiting us from Arizona is Renee Farrell! A former Minot State University Feature Twirler (1965-1969), she is the most proud of being the coach of the National Champion Flying V's Corps and Dance Twirl Teams for 25 years in North Dakota! She has been a certified NBTA judge for 56 years as well as the CBTF in the 1970's-1980's.

Visiting us from Pennsylvania is Terri Dominick! A former Slipper Rock University of Pennsylvania Twirler, Terri is a past Top 6 National Twirling Finalist. Terri has been coaching for 45 years and has been an NBTA judge for 40 years. She is also a WFNBTA World Judge representing the USA!

Here giving our twirlers lots of support and productive commentary is Texas’ own Cindi Bourland Archer! A former Texas Tech University Feature Twirler, Cindi was an NBTA Se National Solo Champion (“The Big One”) and Senior World Strut Champion. She has been judging for 47 years and coaching since she was 17. She is an NBTA and AAU certified judge.
